Last Weekend: In John 14 we sat with Jesus on the night before his crucifixion as he spoke directly into scared, confused hearts and said, "Believe in me; I am the way, the truth, and the life."
I named the common troubles we carry today—constant stress, the pressure to perform, loneliness, too many choices, unstable identity, and the temptation to avoid pain with distractions—and warned how a life built on performance makes our hearts fragile. Rather than giving a program, Jesus offers himself and calls us to abide in him, to live from him (not for him), and to enter the resurrected life now as the Holy Spirit comforts our troubled hearts.
This week, bow your head and ask Jesus to show you the trouble in your heart; name one specific anxiety or the place you are trying to prove your worth and bring it to him each morning. Practice the simple breathing exercise we used—three deep breaths, remembering the air is his—and pick one small way to "abide" daily (five minutes of silence, a short Scripture, or quietly pointing your heart to the cross).
