BUILDING AWARENESS, SUPPORTING HEALING:

AMANAH PROGRAM COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS

On Friday, September 25, the MAS-SSF Amanah Program hosted a community workshop focused on Domestic Violence Awareness & Family Healing at the Salam Center. The four-hour workshop featured two sessions:

“After the Call – What Happens After You Report Domestic Violence” helped participants understand what happens after a domestic violence report is made, the next steps in the process, and what to expect along the way.

“Pathways to Family Healing,” offered a supportive discussion focused on healing, family reunification, and ways forward for families seeking solutions, support, and stability.

Nearly 30 attendees participated in the workshops. Both sessions were designed to benefit community members and leaders alike and were well-received by participants. The group enjoyed a delicious meal after the workshop concluded.

MAS-SSF AND ICNA RELIEF PARTNER HOSTED S.M.A.R.T. GOALS WORKSHOP

On Thursday, October 8th, more than a dozen parents participated in a workshop hosted by the MAS-SSF Shifa for Youth team and INCA Relief at the ICNA Center. Participants learned how to develop a roadmap using S.M.A.R.T. Goals—Specific. Measurable. Achievable. Relevant. Time-bound—to help them define their goals and develop a plan to achieve them based on actionable steps.

Through guided discussions, parents shared insights, refined their goals, and gained practical skills to evaluate and adjust them as needed. Following the formal workshop, families enjoyed a hot meal then received food bags and hygiene kits.

Together, we’re helping families build practical skills, support their mental health, and create a stronger, more connected community.

MAS-SSF OUT IN THE COMMUNITY!

October has been a busy month for our staff and community!

On Saturday, October 10th, MAS-SSF joined COSVIO's Unity Picnic, a family-friendly event at Hagan Community Park in Rancho Cordova. From 10 AM - 3 PM our staff connected with attendees and shared information about our many programs. Families enjoyed a community bazaar, bounce houses, and an exciting skywriting display, with skilled pilots creating hearts, smiley faces, and Pac-Man characters to entertain the neighborhood!

On October 17th, we were invited to participate in Will Rogers Middle School’s Families Matter: United for Student Success Conference, held in the San Juan Unified School District. During the half-day event, our team presented our one-hour Anti-Bullying Workshop to approximately 15–20 families.
