Hundreds Turn Out for the Sunnyvale Turkey Trot

Hundreds of people participated in this year's Fast & Furriest Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning. The event benefits the Sunnyvale Animal Shelter, helping our furry friends find new homes.

Here's a video recap of the 2025 event:

Animal Shelter Update

Earlier this week, the Town hosted a citizen input meeting regarding a new animal shelter. The meeting allowed residents to share their thoughts with the project architect for the design of a new facility.

The illustration above is a broad concept drawing for the new building. The detailed concepts, priorities and specific amenities are still under discussion.

The design is expected to be finalized within the next few months. The entire project is expected to take 12 to 18 months to complete.

Sunnyvale residents and stakeholders are encouraged to monitor Town communications channels, including the website, social media and this weekly enewsletter, for future updates and additional opportunities to provide input.

Lexi, Lila, Lily, Louie, and Luka are 12-week-old puppies: The Shelter impounded five puppies running around in a nearby neighborhood, who have yet to be claimed. They are energetic and full of spunk, looking for their forever home. These pups would make a great addition to your family during the holiday season! Visit these guys and gals at 371 Long Creek or call (214) 862-4525 for more information.

We would love for you to share this with others and bring awareness to the Sunnyvale Animal Shelter's animals and services. If your family is ready to welcome a new member, we currently have many adoptable pets in our shelter looking for a loving home. Learn more by visiting our Petfinder page or calling (214) 862-4525.
