Adam shared with the Marshall County Soil & Water Conservation District about LMEF’s water quality monitoring programs. You can learn more about the many studies conducted on Lake Maxinkuckee at our website’s “What We Do” page.

All our data collection wouldn’t be possible without our talented volunteers. If you’d like to learn how to contribute as a citizen-scientist, please reach out!

The workshop was held at the Bremen Conservation Club this week. Located on the shores of Lake of the Woods, near Bremen, IN, their lake frontage includes benches for resting, and a mix of native wildflowers and trees to provide natural habitat and beauty.

We also got a glimpse at a couple shoreline restoration projects completed by the district with funds from a Clean Water Act Section 319(h) grants. Eroding beaches were replaced with glacial stone and graded to the appropriate slope.

Wetland Tour

We had 20 friends along - old and new - for our wetland tour on November 2nd. The weather cooperated and we were treated to a hands-on (and muddy feet-on) experience at the three main wetlands that treat water before it flows into Lake Maxinkuckee.

If you missed it this time, make sure you've seen our 10 minute drone tour online.

What on-the-ground experience would you like to see in 2025? In the past, we have done tours by bicycle, boat, and by foot. Let us know what would interest you most!
