Primary Election Certified, On to the General!

The July 30th state primary results have been officially certified and the Elections Department has shifted its focus to November's General Election.

Over the next few weeks, we will finalize the ballot design and begin the process of printing early ballots, as well as preparations for those who vote in-person on Election Day. Each successful election involves careful planning, effective communication, meticulous execution, and a strict adherence to laws and regulations. It requires the cooperation of various stakeholders, including political parties, candidates, and voters.

By ensuring accessible polling stations, implementing secure ballot processing, and maintaining election security and transparency throughout the entire process, Pinal County Elections is working diligently to provide voters with a high level of customer service and accurate, efficient system of elections.

Poll Worker Update

Are you interested in becoming a Pinal County Poll Worker?

As a poll worker, you will be a critical part of the election process and help ensure that this year's General Election is accurate and fair. Election work is rewarding and engaging for those who want to participate in the democratic process, serve the public, and meet the people in their community.

Pinal County will have 94 polling locations that need to be staffed with poll workers during the election. A poll worker is a county resident who works at the polling place on Election Day and is paid a stipend for training, time, and travel. Poll workers are encouraged to be placed on the Active Early Voting List (AEVL) and receive an early ballot by mail since it is not guaranteed that you will be assigned to your designated polling location on Election Day.

Have a question?

Elections are complex and have layers of procedures, policies and legal guidelines from the state and federal government from which we administer the election.

From election equipment and polling places to ballot security and chain of custody, each process we perform is based in statute and industry best practices. If you have a question, we want you to ask us! Click the link below to send us your question and we'll feature one we get from the previous newsletter!

This month's featured question:

What is signature curing?

For an early ballot to be tabulated, Pinal County employees must verify the signatures on the return envelopes.

Signature Curing is the process of allowing a voter to resolve or correct a questioned or blank signature that was identified during the signature verification process.

State law provides voters with questionable signatures five CALENDAR days after Election Day for any Federal Election such as a Primary, General or March Presidential Preference Election to cure their signature. If you have questions about the status of your early ballot during the upcoming General Election, visit www.my.arizona.vote.

Logic and Accuracy Test

Before and after every election, Pinal County tests tabulation equipment to make sure it accurately counts ballots. The public test for equipment being used in the November 5, 2024 General Election will take place on Monday, October 7th.
