THE REVITALIZER

Dear Revitalizers-
At Revitalize Milwaukee, our work is rooted in a simple but powerful belief: safe and stable housing changes lives. None of this work happens alone. Today, we proudly recognize our three premier partners — The Home Depot, Milwaukee Tool, and UnitedHealthcare whose leadership, trust, and shared commitment to our mission make transformational impact possible.
Each of these organizations stands for something bigger than business success. Their mission pillars align powerfully with ours:
-
The Home Depot champions community improvement and invests deeply in veteran housing, skilled trades training, and disaster response. Their belief in strengthening homes strengthens entire neighborhoods and that mirrors our commitment to critical home repairs that allow families to remain safely in place.
-
Milwaukee Tool is built on innovation, craftsmanship, and empowering the trades. Their focus on advancing tools and supporting the skilled workforce directly supports the quality, efficiency, and excellence required in every repair we complete.
-
UnitedHealthcare is driven by improving health outcomes and expanding access to care. Safe housing is healthcare. By helping homeowners live in warm, dry, accessible homes, we are improving physical and mental health exactly the kind of upstream impact that builds stronger communities.
Together, these partners demonstrate what is possible when corporate purpose meets community need.
Because of their belief in Revitalize Milwaukee’s mission, homeowners who once faced unsafe electrical systems, failing roofs, inaccessible bathrooms, or no heat are now living with dignity and security. Families can age in place. Veterans can remain in the homes they fought to protect. Neighbors can thrive instead of merely survive.
Our premier partners are more than sponsors they are champions of stability and opportunity. They embody what collaboration can accomplish: not just repairing houses, but restoring hope.
We are deeply grateful for The Home Depot, Milwaukee Tool, and UnitedHealthcare. They are a shining example of what we can achieve together to create lasting impact for homeowners.
With gratitude,
Melanie Roach, CEO

Building Hope 2026
Building Hope Scholar: Gregory Meeks
I first heard about the Building Hope program at a job fair on a cold afternoon in Milwaukee. I hadn’t expected much from that day just rows of tables, stacks of brochures, and polite conversations that never seemed to lead anywhere. But one conversation stuck with me. It felt different. It felt like possibility.
I was born and raised in Milwaukee, a city that shaped me in more ways than I understood at the time. Growing up, I was a bit of a rebellious teenager. I tested boundaries, challenged authority, and made choices without always thinking about where they might lead. At the time, it felt like independence. Looking back, I see it was really me trying to figure out who I was and where I belonged.
Life shifted when my mother became ill. Suddenly, rebellion didn’t matter. What mattered was family. My sister and I stepped up to take care of her. We learned how to be strong in ways no one teaches you in school. We balanced appointments, responsibilities, and the emotional weight that comes with watching someone you love struggle. It changed me. It grounded me. It made me realize that showing up every day, even when it’s hard, is its own kind of strength.
After that chapter of my life, I found myself working warehouse jobs. The work was steady, and I was grateful for it. But over time, I began to feel stuck. I knew I was capable of more. I didn’t just want a job; I wanted a path. Something that would push me in a new direction. Something that would challenge me to grow.
That’s why hearing about the Building Hope program felt important. It wasn’t just about employment; it was about gaining reliable skills I could carry with me wherever life takes me. I want to build something solid, not just with my hands, but with my future. I want training that means opportunity, work that means purpose, and knowledge that no one can take away from me.
I’m no longer that rebellious teenager searching for identity. I’m someone who has faced responsibility head-on, who understands the value of hard work, and who is ready for a new beginning. The Building Hope program feels like more than a resource it feels like a doorway. And this time, I’m ready to walk through it.
