Her time with YVC has also helped her grow personally. “I’ve definitely grown whilst being in YVC by learning to be comfortable with the uncomfortable,” Autumn reflected. She explained that working alongside passionate, talented leaders has taught her how to let go of the need to control every situation and instead embrace teamwork. “It’s allowed me to learn how to be more of a team player and just be okay with my role—doing the best with what I have and being confident that everything we are doing matters and counts for something.”
Of all the service opportunities she’s taken part in, one project stands out: volunteering at the Peninsula Rescue Mission. “Every little bit of just being there makes an impact on both myself and the people we are helping,” she shared. Whether preparing and serving food, cleaning up, or talking with staff, she feels the work is meaningful. “It all contributes to not only being a better volunteer but making a better community. I always leave those projects feeling inspired.”
Through YVC, Autumn has found a place where service, growth, and community come together—and where her impact continues to ripple outward.
