3/7/2021 Update: Big Supply. Walk-Ins. Teachers. Extra Dose Wait List.
The supply of vaccine improves this week. We have thousands of doses coming to our three locations.
Appointments
Our team is working to clean up appointments, clearing those who don’t intend to present at their reserved time. Openings can occur at any time of day on our bookings site. Periodically, heavy traffic may generate a ‘server busy’ message. Just keep trying.
We will be moving people up from later dates daily. As we clear out the dead appointments, we will compress schedules, advancing those with dates in the future. Please monitor your email for these changes. You can also check our appointment lookup tool.
This is wwwaaaayyyy better than pushing schedules back!
WALK-INS
One trend developing is early arrivers. Afternoon appointments tend to slide earlier, leaving lighter afternoon crowds. Further, our ability to compress appointments and move people up as described above is not instantaneous (it will take our staff time in between running vaccine operations).
So, we will be offering on-demand appointment advancements at the Oak Harbor store ONLY from 2p-5p Mon-Fri. To walk-in, you must have any appointment on the books with us in the future (hint, book one now!)
Also, we will now allow 2nd doses of Moderna vaccine where you got the first dose elsewhere. This is a change resulting from some no-shows over the past couple of weeks. We will disallow this again once excess depletes.
You will still need to use the text messaging arrival process seen below.
TEACHERS
The walk-in schedule above lines up well for after-school and includes teachers from any district. We look forward to helping kids get back in your classrooms!
With the additions to vaccine eligibility, we will lean on the WA DOH Phase Finder tool. If you are below age 65, please bring a printed copy confirming your eligibility for vaccination.
Volunteers
We have experienced amazing support from volunteers in recent weeks. Both Vaccinators and Ushers. Simply amazing.
Improving access to our La Conner and Clinton stores will be driven by volunteer availability. Please keep checking our site, some new spots are open now. As volunteer vaccinators schedule shifts, we will open appointments.
If we have extra doses from no-shows or any other reason, we will notify everyone on the list by email and text. An embedded link will provide you the opportunity to reserve an extra dose IF you are available to be at your nearest one of our locations within 20 minutes. Once the doses are spoken for, no more reservations will be accepted that day. You will know if you made the cut BEFORE heading in.
Your willingness to come get vaccinated on short notice helps us ensure minimal waste of this publicly provided resource. All are encouraged to register.
Now, some important procedural details
For those getting second doses will require proof of the original shot. Your CDC vaccination record card is the documentation we need (sample image below). If you don’t have it with you, we can look it up. But, that may cause a delay in store.
The best way we can reduce your time in line is by having completed paperwork with you upon arrival. Our revised vaccine administration form can help. Using Adobe Reader, it now allows attaching images (insurance cards and ID) directly inside the form. Simply print off using your color printer. This allows you to skip the copy machine line and get in the queue for our pharmacist right away!
Also, please don’t forget to bring your cell phone and use the text message arrival process. This helps us manage traffic flow and keep social distancing. All our landlines accept text messages.
Upon arrival to our parking lot, please text the full names of everyone in your party receiving a vaccine, along with our keyword “anticovid”.
Below is the example for Oak Harbor arrival, using our phone number 360.675.6688 and Pete Carrol/Russell Wilson.
