There are many wonderful things about being a pastor in Larchmont, but for me one of the very best is the fruitful, friendly, fun, and formative community that exists among the local clergy. Larchmont has a strong history of ecumenical and interfaith cooperation, which has created beloved shared traditions like Easter Sunrise services at Manor Park and Thanksgiving services in November. This spirit of cooperation has also been a real blessing in times of need, with houses of worship coming together to respond to the tragedy of 9/11, meet the challenges of the recent COVID pandemic, promote sustainable ecological practices, and meet many other needs of brothers and sisters in our region.
At our next SEEKERS event, a leader with 38 years of experience in our community of faith will share his personal reflections and hopes for this partnership that continues to thrive and grow. Rabbi Jeff Sirkman is well-known to our congregation, and I am sure the conversation that he will initiate with us will be affirming, encouraging, and a great way to spend an evening.
We hope you will join us in Russell Hall on Thursday, January 15th (7:30 PM) as we discuss the rich history of interfaith cooperation in our Village and beyond.
