What MVLS Volunteer Attorneys Need to Know
MVLS is taking every precaution to help reduce the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Beginning Monday, March 16 our physical office at 201 North Charles Street, Suite 1400 in Baltimore will be closed through Friday, April 3. We are instituting a remote work policy for our staff.

As an incredibly important part of our team, your health and safety are our top priority.

What volunteers need to know:
  • If you haven’t heard, the Maryland courts have closed the courts to most, but not all judicial matters. Read more about the Maryland court closures (March 16 - April 3).
  • If you have an open case, please reach out to your client to answer any questions or concerns.
  • Do you need a list of your current MVLS clients? If so, contact Sarah Witri at 443-451-4068.
  • If you need our support to navigate how to work with your MVLS client remotely, please contact your assigned paralegal or Sarah Witri.
  • MVLS will continue to give you the support you need. During this work from home time, you can continue to reach your MVLS staff member through their email address or phone number.
  • All volunteer trainings will continue via our virtual platform.
  • If you are willing to take a case, please visit our Pro Bono Portal. We expect to see a significant rise in the number of cases related to foreclosure, medical debt, tax sale and water bill issues.

Margaret Henn at 443-451-4067 and Sarah Witri are available if you have any questions. Visit www.mvlslaw.org for updates.

As always, MVLS is deeply committed to supporting our volunteers and we are here for you during this challenging period!

Thank you for all of your support now and throughout the year.
