FOURTH GRADE ENJOYS VISIT TO LA PURISIMA MISSION AS PART OF CALIFORNIA MISSION STUDIES
This week, the fourth grade class visited La Purisima Mission and State Park. The students observed the historical buildings and enjoyed examining many artifacts. Mrs. Downing gave the students a special assignment as students took photos on their iPads to record their learning. Next, they’ll be working on editing their photos and making a slide show to describe the different components of a mission.

The students especially loved the wild turkeys, chickens, sheep, and cows that live on site! They ended their visit with an uphill sprint to a beautiful lookout, taking a quiet moment to enjoy the natural surroundings that indigenous people have honored for thousands of years.
FOURTH GRADERS TO VISIT SANTA CRUZ ISLAND
On May 31, the fourth grade will be off to Santa Cruz Island! This day-long trip has been a traditional culmination of our science program. Students will visit Scorpion Bay, which has a rich history and stunning natural wonders. They will leave from Ventura Harbor with Island Packers Cruises. The day will include a tour of sites and an island hike. We are excited to share our adventures and discoveries with you after the trip!

Fourth grade parents may contact Mrs. Richter with any questions about this upcoming trip.

This year, the results were in reverse order: She won the 100 breaststroke title in a time of 1:09.26.

Keshen finished second in the 200 IM, recording a 2:13.73, finishing just off the pace set by Adelle Brush from St. Monica Academy of La Crescenta.

Congratulations, Kendall!

LAGUNA BOWL RETURNS, DELIGHTING ATTENDEES WITH AWESOME 90S HITS AND DELICIOUS EATS
After a five-year hiatus, Laguna Bowl made a welcome return, with a fantastic turnout last Saturday evening. The event brought together current families, faculty, and new parents, who enjoyed libations and food from a tasty taco truck. Ruston Amphitheatre was transformed into a lively concert venue, featuring the Midlife Crisis band, who thrilled the audience with an evening of awesome 90s hits.

We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to Gabe Dalporto and his band members for getting the crowd on their feet! We also want to extend our deepest gratitude to Belle Regeer, Gabe Dalporto, and Jane Weaver for their contribution to organizing the event, and ensuring that every detail was flawless. Lastly, we want to give a standing ovation to our Family Association President Debbie Popovich for her leadership and commitment to reviving this event and making it such a success.
