**Meet Your Summer 2025 Orientation Peer Advisors!**
This summer, you’ll have the support of a dedicated team of Orientation Peer Advisors—current international students from across the globe studying in a variety of academic departments and degree programs (both undergraduate and graduate).
Summer Orientation Peer Advisors are here to welcome you to the University of Michigan and help ensure a smooth transition to campus life. Throughout the end of July and all through August, they will lead Peer-to-Peer sessions and social events, guide tours around campus and the Ann Arbor community, and host an information table outside the International Center to answer your questions. Drawing from their diverse backgrounds and personal experiences, they are eager to share tips, connect you with resources, and help you build a vibrant community from your very first days as a Wolverine!

Stay Informed with the International Center’s Canvas Course!
The International Center provides essential orientation resources through a dedicated Canvas Course. Inside, you’ll find recordings and slides from virtual orientation sessions that have already occurred, important announcements, and a regularly updated calendar of events. All incoming international students are strongly encouraged to enroll to ensure you don’t miss any orientation-related materials or events. Canvas is a user-friendly, web-based platform which you will likely also use for some of your courses this fall. Get connected and make the most of your U-M experience!
If you couldn't attend the virtual Pre-Departure Orientation (PDO) in June, you can view the recording and presentation slides on our Canvas course!

Writing 160: Multilingual Writing
Fall 2025 Course Offering
Are you looking to add another course to your Fall schedule? Check out Writing 160! College writing, like US society as a whole, is becoming increasingly global and digital, and students in Writing 160.006: Multimodal Writing / Multilingual Writing will explore how multilingual skills can be harnessed as a resource to meet modern students’ college writing needs.
This course will explore the causes and effects of multilingual education policies in the US, the benefits of multilingualism in college writing and scholarship, and how English writing can be enhanced by multilingualism. Designed to meet first-year writing goals, this course will also encourage students to develop a rhetorical perspective on multilingualism related to academic writing.
