FMA Member Companies Host Local Teachers for Summer Externships

This summer, a unique professional development opportunity brought six teachers from Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS) and the Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) together for externships with leading FMA member companies.

These externships, which included placements at BlueHalo, Boeing Intelligence & Analytics, Booz Allen Hamilton, IntelliGenesis, MasterPeace Solutions and Praxis Engineering, provided educators with an in-depth look at the inner workings of the cybersecurity industry.

FMA Debuts NextGen Leaders

FMA’s revamped group for young professionals, the NextGen Leaders, kicked off August 29th for a Crab Feast at Nick’s Fish House in Baltimore.

RealmOne, Tower Federal Credit Union, MOJO Creative Digital and Prime Time Consulting sponsored the event. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Fort Meade Alliance Foundation.

MBC to Help 18 Companies Grow

Meade Business Connect kicked off this year's Micro Business Mentorship Program with its 3rd cohort on August 27th at Soundtrack. MBC Micro-Business alums and FMA Board Members joined in welcoming this year’s new cohort, which is made up of 18 small businesses.

What’s on the Menu?

Nutritional cooking programs at Fort Meade are off to a great start for fiscal year 2025. Monthly Meal in a Mug classes are in full swing with 14 participants in August. Additional scheduled classes are on September 25th and October 30th at the Education and Resiliency Center in Kuhn Hall.

A Warm Welcome

The Fort Meade Alliance welcomes Col. Yolanda Gore, who became the 89th Garrison Commander of Fort George G. Meade in August.

Col. Gore is the first woman to lead the 107-year-old installation — the second largest installation by population with more than 64,000 employees. The former Strategic Initiative Chief for the Deputy Chief of Staff at the Pentagon succeeded Col. Michael Sapp, who led the installation for two years.
