Reflections from our Pastors
Tuesday, October 21, 2026
Answers? Who said answers? They said, "Questions!"
Some Catholics have guilt when they question. The church always had the answers. Without questions, depth would be avoided, and worse, denied.
Reading this prayer more than once, with your heart and head, you may experience a knowing that includes the questions. That experience resonates with the experience our Monday Morning Peace Prayer sisters and brothers experience. We pray that this experience is so for you. You can also try praying it with someone in your home or anywhere.
The Christic
I am looking at a tree, but I see such astounding beauty and
graciousness, the tree must be You, O God,
I look at the wild weeds playing across the fields, and their
wild joyful freedom speaks to me of You, O God.
Yesterday, I saw a child crying alone on a busy corner, and
the tears were real, and I thought, you must be crying, O God.
God, you are the mystery within every leaf and grain of sand,
in every face, young and old, you are the light and beauty
of every person.
You are Love itself.
Will we ever learn our true meaning, our true identity?
Will we ever really know that we humans are created for
Love?
For it is love alone that moves the sun and stars
and everything in between.
We are trying too hard to find You, but You are already here,
We are seeking life without You, but You are already within,
Our heads are in the sand, our eyes are blinded by darkness,
our minds are disoriented in our desperate search
for meaning.
Because You are not what we think You are:
You are mystery.
You are here and You are not,
You are me and You are not,
You are now and You are not,
You are what we will become.
You are the in-between mystery
The infinite potential of infinite love,
And it is not yet clear what You shall be,
For we shall become something new altogether.
If we imagine ‘something new altogether,’ we may find ourselves more hopeful.
In the Love of Christ,
Pastor Jane
'The Christic' a poem written by Sr. Ilia Delio,OSF
published in her book, The Not-Yet-God: Carl Jung, Teilhard de Chardin, and the Relational Whole.

Rocky Mountain ECC Regional Council
We need just 2 volunteers !!
House of Laity Steering Committee
Mary Lu Stensen from Light of Christ will be stepping down from serving as a regional representative to the ECC House of Laity Steering Committee.
The Steering Committee meets once monthly on Zoom to discuss ECC issues and concerns that pertain particularly to the lay members of the ECC. If you are interested in serving our region in this capacity, please contact Tom Moos (970 219-9441 or tjmoos@aol.com). Mary Lu is happy to provide training and guidance.
Board of Directors Member in the Colorado Council of Churches
The Colorado Council of Churches (CCC) is an interdenominational organization working together for justice focusing on affordable housing and housing justice, criminal restorative justice, education of children, Environment, Health Care, Poverty, Immigration, Racism, Sexuality, Families and Abuse.
The CCC has historically also been the primary organizer of the Easter Sunrise Services at Redrocks. As vicar for ecumenical engagement, Fr Michael Nicosia served on the Board and eventually became Chairman, raising visibility for the ECC especially in the Denver area and northern Colorado. Bishop Kae Madden has continued to be an ECC presence as an Adjudicator but is not a member of the Board.
The region is looking for someone to take Fr Nicosia’s place. Although many representatives to CCC are clergy, being ordained is not a requirement. If interested, please contact Tom Moos (970 219-9441 or tjmoos@aol.com) or Mother Rosean.
