Leadership Transition at United Way of Racine County

Dear Community,

After 15 years with United Way of Racine County, including serving as president and CEO since 2019, Ali Haigh will depart the organization effective Oct. 30, 2026. As UWRC’s first female president and CEO, Ali has helped shape our organization and strengthen its role as a community leader and partner.

United Way of Racine County’s board has appointed Chief Operating Officer Jessica Safransky-Schacht as interim president and CEO following Ali’s departure. Jessica brings a deep understanding of our community and a strong commitment to United Way and will provide continuity and stability.

During Ali’s time as CEO, she guided United Way of Racine County through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, navigated government funding uncertainty alongside our partners, stewarded transformative opportunities such as the MacKenzie Scott gift, and helped shape and implement our current strategic plan. She also modernized internal processes and contributed to the broader United Way network through service on the state board and National Advisory Council.

We are grateful for the dedication, leadership and lasting contributions that have helped position United Way of Racine County to continue serving our community and wish Ali the best as she begins an exciting new chapter.

Sincerely,

Laura Million

Board Chair

A Message from Ali

My time working for United Way of Racine County has been some of the most rewarding years of my life; years that have shaped who I am, deepened my love for this community, and shown me what is possible when people come together to care for one another.

To the team, volunteers, donors, and partners: your kindness, trust and friendship have meant more to me than I can express.

Thank you for allowing me to be part of your lives and for changing mine.

With gratitude,

Ali
