Thankful Traditions at Snowflakes
Thanksgiving isn’t just a day—it’s a feeling. A blend of laughter, cozy kitchens, parade floats, and the unmistakable smell of something wonderful baking in the oven. At Snowflakes, our team cherishes the little traditions that make this season so special, and we asked them to share their favorite memories.
My dad and I always make the apple pies together—that’s probably my favorite part! Afterward, we watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and the dog show. My grandma made the gravy, and I'd always help her with that! —Jenna
We played football in the yard and watched the parade—Christmas didn’t start until Santa showed up! Dad would make his famous gourmet mashed potatoes, and Mom would stay up late getting started on the Christmas decorations. – Elise
Growing up, we had a kids vs. adults football game right after Thanksgiving lunch! – Karli
My dad usually cooked all the dishes, but my favorite Thanksgiving memory happened when I was in college in Chicago. My family surprised me with a visit for the holiday, and we stayed with my aunt, my dad’s sister, for Thanksgiving. She made the meal—but forgot the stuffing, which in my opinion is the best part! When we returned home to Colorado, my mom made another Thanksgiving meal—a redo of sorts—so we could finally have our stuffing. It was chaotic, funny, and absolutely unforgettable. --Paige
Honestly, we didn’t have a lot of big traditions, but one thing that always stood out was my mom’s special Thanksgiving plates. We only ever used them that one day each year, and it was such a big deal to get them out! Funny enough, they weren’t even fancy or decorative, but to me, they were so cool and nostalgic—Julie
What’s your favorite Thanksgiving dish or tradition? We’d love to hear!
We’re thankful for every Snowflakes story and the families who make this community so special. Wishing you a joyful and restful Thanksgiving!
