Earlier this week, Lehman and NYC Small Business Services celebrated 28 foreign-trained nurses from 19 countries who completed the NCLEX-RN/ELL international nurse training program. Special guests included SBS Deputy Commissioner Yurij Pawluk and Assemblymember Karines Reyes.

F(UN) Facts In Honor of United Nations Day

This Friday, October 24

🌐 Herbert H. Lehman directed the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration from 1943-1946, presiding over the largest international relief effort in history.

🕊️ The United Nations held the first American meetings of its Security Council on Lehman's historic campus and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights began to be drafted here.

🎤 In 2016, Ban Ki-Moon, UN Secretary-General at the time, delivered the College's Lehman Lecture.

Community Cleanup

Members of the Lehman community cleaned up along Jerome Avenue near Gate 13. Bronx Community Board 7 shares that over 50 bags of garbage, weeds, and leaves were collected.

Wealth of Knowledge

Attendees of Lehman's Financial Learning Group 'Building Wealth' panel discussion learned a lot, were inspired to build their own wealth, and left with great prizes! Panelists were Lehman College Foundation Board Member and Vice President of the Lehman College Alumni Board Julissa Alvarez B.S. ’04, M.S. ’10, M.S. ’12 (top right), and Jennifer Guzman and Nury Santos (top left).
