Autumn Awakenings: Nurture Your Heart, Mind & Soul

As we step into the cozy hues of autumn, let’s embrace the season of renewal and creativity together!

This month, we’ve lined up a bouquet of inspiring activities just for our caregivers — from crafting charming Decoupage on Ceramic Tile and soothing DIY Aromatherapy Flower Plasters to designing your own Canvas Pencil Pouch and whipping up delicious dishes in our ever-popular Healthy Cooking Class. To help melt away stress, join our Manage Stress with Mindfulness (in-person) or unwind from home in our Breath Work & Meditation (online) session. For those eager to awaken their inner artist, our Introduction to Chinese Ink Painting and Introduction to Watercolor classes are the perfect splash of color. We’re also hosting an essential What is Dementia seminar to help caregivers better understand this important topic and support their loved ones with confidence and compassion. In our Caregivers section, we explore “Illness & Grief: What to Expect” and share a heartfelt story from caregiver Maki Riddington about his journey caring for his mother. And don’t miss our Community Partner highlight on the Importance of Physical Activities for Older Adults — plus a blooming treat for nature lovers, the vibrant Blooming Hope 2025 Flower Exhibition.

Let’s welcome autumn with open hearts, curious minds, and a little creative spark!

Caregiver Hub Updates

Illness & Grief: What to Expect?

The many changes that occur during the course of a serious illness mean that patients and their families are continually dealing with losses and of past abilities, of present lifestyle, of hopes and plans for the future. The unfamiliarity and intensity of these losses and the accompanying grief reactions can create further uncertainty and stress in people’s lives.

Caregivers' Sharing

With warmth and openness, Maki shares his Monday Musings—this story is inspired by his journey of caring for his mother

We are pleased to introduce Maki’s Monday Musings, a thoughtful series of reflections drawn from Maki’s personal experience as a caregiver for his mother. These writings capture both the challenges and the meaningful moments of the caregiving journey, offering valuable insight and encouragement to others who may be walking a similar path. At his mother’s own suggestion and with her full support, Maki has chosen to share his perspective on dementia and caregiving, creating a collection of reflections that are both deeply personal and universally relatable.
