A Month of Gratitude

There’s a lot to be grateful for at Community Care, and this month we had the opportunity to celebrate two groups who make such a meaningful difference in our community: our volunteers and our donors.

Volunteer Appreciation Dinner

Our Annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner was an evening filled with great food, music, prizes, laughter and, most importantly, gratitude. It was our chance to say thank you to the amazing people who make such a difference every day.

We were also proud to celebrate our Volunteer Service Award recipients, recognizing those who have reached milestones of 5, 10, 15 and 20 years of volunteering with Community Care. What an incredible commitment to our community!

Donor Appreciation Event

We also hosted our Donor Appreciation Event this month, giving us a chance to share our gratitude with the generous supporters who help make our programs and services possible. It was wonderful to connect and share more information about how their generosity makes a direct impact in Kawartha Lakes.

To every volunteer who gives their time and every donor who chooses to give: thank you. Your generosity, compassion and support help us care for people throughout our community every day.

We’re so grateful for everything you do!

You’re Invited: Community Town Hall Tour

How can you access cancer care and supportive services close to home? What’s happening with healthcare in our community?

Join Ross Memorial Hospital and local healthcare partners, including Community Care City of Kawartha Lakes, for a series of free Community Town Halls this month.

These sessions will provide an opportunity to learn more about local cancer care and supportive services, hear updates on RMH’s Master Planning and major projects, and ask questions directly to members of the local healthcare team.

Town halls will be held in Coboconk, Pontypool, Fenelon Falls and Lindsay, from 6–7:30 p.m., with doors opening at 5:30 p.m.

Check the flyer for dates, locations and additional details. We hope to see you there!

Generosity at our Adult Day Program

undefined

We would like to give a big thank you to one of our wonderful Adult Day Program clients, Lynn W., who generously donated a lifting recliner to support the program!

We’re so grateful for her thoughtfulness and generosity. It’s wonderful to see our clients helping make the program an even better place for everyone.

A heartfelt thank you to the sewing group at Trinity United Church for creating a special wheelchair seatbelt cover for one of our ADP clients! After learning about his love of sports, especially the Toronto Raptors and Maple Leafs, the group designed a thoughtful cover just for him. Their kindness has touched both the client and his family. This group has also generously donated fidget blankets and cozy wraps for our ADP clients. We’re so grateful for their creativity and generosity!

You Helped Drive Care Forward!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community and contributions from our gift-matching sponsors, Dr. Julie Johnson Dentistry and MNP, the Community Care Foundation’s Help Drive Care Forward campaign has reached its goal of raising $50,000 to help fund the accessibility modifications for a new specialized transportation van!

For people who rely on accessible transportation, these vans are more than a way to get from one place to another. They help people reach medical appointments, access essential services, stay connected to their community and maintain their independence.

With more than 100 rides taking place each day, every accessible vehicle makes a difference.

Thank you for helping make this possible and for helping drive care forward in our community!
