Delray Beach Recognized for Groundbreaking Technological Innovations with Digital Cities Award

The City of Delray Beach has been named one of the winners of the prestigious Digital Cities Survey, conducted by the Center for Digital Government (CDG). This annual award highlights cities that leverage technology to enhance public service delivery, improve transparency, strengthen cybersecurity, and tackle social challenges with innovative solutions.

"Winning this Digital Cities Award is a testament to Delray Beach's unwavering commitment to innovation and excellence in public service," said Jay Stacy, Chief Technology Officer. "Our forward-thinking approach to technology and dedication to enhancing digital services and cybersecurity have not only improved the daily lives of our residents but have also set a benchmark for other cities. This recognition fuels our drive to continue investing in cutting-edge solutions that foster a safer, more connected, and resilient community."

The City of Delray Beach stood out for its pioneering use of technology and comprehensive approach to digital governance. The city’s key innovations included the successful implementation of the Real-Time Crime Center (RTCC), which integrates advanced data analysis, video surveillance, and automated license plate readers to improve public safety. The RTCC exemplifies Delray Beach’s commitment to using cutting-edge technology to create safer neighborhoods and boost law enforcement capabilities.

Free Tree Giveaways for Delray Beach Residents

As part of our tree campaign, Delray Beach has partnered with Community Greening so residents can apply to have free trees delivered directly to their homes with the Delray Residential Drop-off program. Community Greening will bring residents up to three free Florida shade trees in 15-gallon containers for them to plant at their homes, helping to increase the City's tree canopy.

If you're interested in receiving a free tree delivery, apply at CommunityGreening.org/program/delray-drop-off

There will also be a walk-up Tree Giveaway at 10 AM on December 7 as a part of the GreenMarket at Old School Square. Together with Community Greening, we'll give away free native and fruit trees to residents on a first-come, first-served basis, with a limit of three trees per household.
