IH Portfolio and Community Queue Updates

Dear Providers,

As part of the FY 2026-27 Interim Housing (IH) Portfolio transition and implementation of joint oversight by LAHSA and Los Angeles County Homeless Services and Housing (HSH), we will provide weekly updates to keep providers informed of HMIS changes, upcoming action items, training opportunities, and implementation milestones.

IH Portfolio and HSH Transition Update

As of July 2, all IH Projects have been updated in HMIS to reflect the FY2026-27 funding and grant administrator changes.

Refer to the updated FY26-27 Interim Housing Transition Program List for a complete list of IH projects that:

  • Remained LAHSA-funded;
  • Transitioned to HSH funding;
  • Continued with both LAHSA and HSH funding;
  • Transferred to a new provider or Continuum of Care;
  • Closed; or
  • Were newly created.

If you identify any discrepancies or have questions about your project configuration, please submit a support request through the LAHSA Enterprise Ticketing System under HMIS Support > HMIS Inventory. For HSH program-related questions, please contact the HSH team at InterimHousing@hsh.lacounty.gov.

Reminder: Adding Participants to the New Community Queue

As part of the updated IH referral process, participants may be referred to one or both of the following community queues:

  • City of LA Restricted Interim Housing Queue (LAHSA-administered matching)
  • Countywide Tier 1 Interim Housing Queue. (HSH-administered matching)

The new Countywide Tier 1 Interim Housing Queue is now live and accepting referrals.

Providers are encouraged to begin referring eligible participants to the appropriate queue(s) ahead of the operational go-live dates. This will allow the matching process to begin once implementation is fully underway with minimal disruption to participant services.

Select the appropriate toggle(s) and click on the “Refer directly To Community Queue(s)” button to add a participant referral.

For a refresher on the complete matching and referral process, you can view the Matching & Referral Process for IH Providers recording and power point slides on LAHSA’s Centralized Training Academy (CTA).

Reminder: Go Live dates

LAHSA and HSH are onboarding additional Interim Housing projects into the standardized referral workflow. To support a smooth implementation, projects will transition in two phases. Each phase has a designated go-live date, which marks the date providers should begin using the updated referral and matching workflow within HMIS.

July 13, 2026 - Existing Inventory Module Projects

All projects that are currently configured and utilizing the HMIS Inventory Module will begin using the updated workflow on Monday, July 13, 2026. The updated workflow includes using the IH referral in HMIS, referring to one or both Community Queues, and utilizing Calendly to schedule the intake appointments to support timely participant placement into IH beds.

July 27, 2026 – Projects New to the Inventory Module

Projects that are not currently utilizing the HMIS Inventory Module, including family projects and a select adult IH projects, will begin using the updated matching and referral workflow on Monday, July 27, 2026.

The additional two weeks will allow time to collect the program site inventory information, configure and validate inventory in HMIS, and give providers time to develop update internal workflows before implementation.

Required Provider Action

Providers transitioning to the HMIS Inventory Module for the first time must complete the following activities:

  1. Complete Calendly setup by July 14, 2026: Calendly invites have been distributed to all providers participating in this implementation phase. See the Calendly Training for IH Providers recording and Power Point slides for detailed guidance.
  2. Complete Inventory Collection by July 17, 2026: Coordinate with your HSH program staff to collect your site’s inventory. As needed, HSH program staff will reach out to complete the LAHSA Inventory Data Collection Tool – This template is used to update or add any new inventory to an existing or new program site.
  • Providers requiring tool completion will be engaged by HSH program staff no later than end of business July 7, 2026, to coordinate the data collection.
