This new decade must be one of urgent mobilization for WILPF’s feminist peace agenda
Greetings!
This is a friendly reminder that you have only a few more days in 2020 to answer your end of year appeal from Women’s International League for Peace & Freedom – US Section.
We need your help before Dec. 31st…for our continuing work to prevent nuclear war and address the inequality, corruption, and conflict that lead to endless war. Your contribution NOW will make our work far more strategic in the early part of 2021, which is when we MUST be heard by the new Biden Administration on so many issues.

I realize, this has been a hard year for many people. But if you’re able to donate, I hope you’ll help make up the donations others can’t afford this year.
If you could give just a bit more than usual, we’d so appreciate it. Like most non-profits, our income has been down, but our expenses remain the same.
I’m asking for your help on behalf of all our members, branches, and issue committees who give so much of themselves to this work. Their local activism constantly inspires me. You can read about our work in the Appeal 2020 ROUNDUP we sent you.
Even in this challenging year, WILPF has been organizing virtually, working with allies to protect voting rights, lobbying for reform, and organizing virtually to respond to militarism, economic injustice, pollution, fracking, climate change, and threats to democracy. These are only a fraction of the kinds of work our members took on in 2020:
-
regularly protested against new deployment of F-35 bombers in civilian areas.
- educated and organized women to plant seeds of activism.
- protested big banks and insisted they divest from funding nuclear weapons.
-
advocated for local community rights and ordinances that put people, planet, and peace above profits.
-
created the project militarypoisons.org to protest the military’s role in polluting water and soil, especially in economically depressed communities of color.
-
created the project beforeyouenlist.org to do counter recruiting in high schools.
-
stood with local Poor People‘s Campaign and Black Lives Matter demonstrators, assuring the public that, after 105 years, WILPF is still here, connecting human rights and economic justice to the quest for peace.
