More details below!
Program Committee Meeting
This is an opportunity for all WILPF members to speak and to hear. We've built in time for you in the Program Committee agenda – to go into a break-out room to meet and talk directly with issue committee leaders. That’s your time to ask questions about the particular issue committee, as well as to learn more and give your feedback on specific issue committee projects. (Beyond the break-outs, as you can see from the agenda, the demands of meeting business limit member opportunities to speak up.)
The “all-WILPF-members-welcome” Program Committee meetings occur only a few times a year. The next one will be some months after our national WILPF Congress (August 13-15 and 20-22).
On May 4 we are meeting using the Maestro conference call platform – featuring a “text pad” where you can copy and/or type in information. If you have been on these Program Committee Maestro calls before, you should get a reminder (from Michael) one day in advance. However, if you want to participate but haven’t been on a Program Committee call in the last ten months, or if you don’t receive a Maestro reminder (the day before) for this Program call, please be sure to preregister here.
We'll make the issue committee reports available to call participants after the meeting. Those written reports may include all these items:
- New projects or goals the committees are pursuing
- Progress or updates on projects
- Evaluation of the process of committee reaching out to branches – about how they can participate more fully in committee work
- Any webinars or public outreach planned for the next 2-3 months
- Other brief informational items for attending WILPF members
To see what we’ll specifically address in the meeting, see the agenda. The meeting discussions in the “main room” of this all-member call will be recorded and made available on WILPF’s website.
Continuing: Before and After Conversations with the WILPF President
Consistent with this year’s new practice, this Program Committee call will once again feature informal "before/after” conversations. The before and after conversations are WILPF member time for one half-hour before and after the Program Committee meeting.
I invite you to call in (or stay on) – if for ten minutes or for both full half-hours – to converse and to ask me questions about our program work and other WILPF topics:
Before – 7:30-8 pm EDT / 4:30-5 pm PDT
After – 10-10:30 pm EDT / 7-7:30 pm PDT
These conversations are to respond to you, to hear your suggestions and comments, and to offer further information about national WILPF matters. They occur every month, even when participation in the Program meetings themselves is limited to the Program Committee members.
For this before/after conversation, we’ll be using the same Maestro call-in as for the Program meeting. (Other calls have been done using zoom. If you have comments for me about these different platforms, please email me! See below.) Remember to preregister, if you haven’t before.
I look forward to seeing you and many WILPFers on Tuesday, May 4!
Darien De Lu
President, WILPF US
