Spaghetti Dinner & Bake Sale

The Spaghetti Dinner and Bake Sale hosted by the Torrance Firefighters Association took place this past Saturday evening. As an annual event I look forward to, this year certainly did not disappoint. The Ken Miller Recreation Center was filled with friends and family enjoying the meal and time together. The dinner benefits CHAMP CAMP and the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation.

Deadlines Approaching for Business

Personal Property Statements

An important deadline for business owners is fast approaching. Businesses with personal property and fixtures valued at $100,000 or more must file an annual Business Personal Property (BPP) Statement by April 1. This is required by state law. However, a business can file up to May 8th without a penalty. After that a 10% penalty will be applied. Read More...

Address the Business Community

The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce will hold the State of the State on Friday, April 7th. This event will begin at 12:00 PM at Sunrider International. State Senator Ben Allen from the 24th District, State Senator Steven Bradford from the 35th District, and Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi from the 66th District will give an update on issues impacting Torrance businesses, along with important efforts on which they are working on.

A Timely Discussion for all Small Business Owners

The Torrance Chamber’s Small Business Council extends an invitation to all members to attend “Earthquakes, Floods and Fires – Is Your Business Ready” on Thursday, April 6th beginning at 8:30 a.m. This 90-minute program will feature a panel of experts from Cal Teach and the City ofT orrance. The meeting will be held at the Chamber office.


Panelists include Margaret Vinci, Manager, Office of Earthquake Programs, Cal Tech; Eunique Day, Office of Emergency Services, City of Torrance; and Christopher Rhodes, Senior Fire Prevention Specialist, City of Torrance. Read More...

Support Our Armed Forces & Participate in the 5K Run/Walk for Freedom in Tribute to Louis Zamperini

The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to present the 5th Annual 5K for Freedom Run/Walk on Saturday, May 20, 2023. The run/walk will bring individuals together for a morning of camaraderie and excitement around celebrating the freedoms we as Americans treasure thanks to the sacrifices of our service members.


In recognition of Armed Forces Day, the 5K will include a special component called the Freedom Run, in which active duty service men and women will run in formation in PT gear and call out cadence. There will be an expo area in which businesses will showcase their goods and services, a segment to honor service members, and a pancake breakfast. Read More...

Chamber Hosts Informative Forum with Students and Police

The Chamber recently hosted a forum at Ambassador Christian High School in which five representatives from the Torrance Police Department responded to students concerns of mass shootings, civilian drones, racial bias and social media.


“This chamber event was a wonderful and authentic view of the service and challenges facing local law enforcement in Torrance. The panel was able to share their personal motivations to serve our community and provide the human side to their service and daily interactions with the public. Our students enjoyed the panel discussion and would love to continue to partner with the Chamber for other events,” stated Michael Barker, Head of School. The City of Torrance Logo Design Competition

The City of Torrance has launched a public logo competition for the official City logo. Designers of ALL levels are encouraged to submit their designs for consideration. Torrance Climate Smart Awards

The City of Torrance Environmental Quality and Energy Conservation Commission (TEQECC) has launched their annual Torrance Climate Smart Awards.
