Reminders from The Sea Pines Safety and Security Department

If you see something, say something

Your Sea Pines CSA Staff worked diligently to replace over 30 street signs that were either stolen or damaged in an apparent vandalism that occurred along the Baynard Cove, Sea Pines Drive, South Beach areas sometime between April 27-28.

If you have any information on the whereabouts of those missing signs or information on this vandalism, you are asked to contact the Sea Pines Security Department 24/7 Dispatch line at 843-671-7170. *Pictured: CSA Staff work to replace the street signs

Take Care, Be Aware

Alligator Nesting Season Information

Being safe means always being aware of your surroundings. This applies to the wildlife that live among us.

Alligator nesting season has begun. The nests are constructed of vegetation and materials from the surrounding habitat which is sometimes difficult to see. We have added signs where we are aware of an active alligator nest to help bring it to your attention.

Female alligators are very protective of their eggs and young, so please be observant and keep a safe distance. To be safe while walking at dusk or after dark, always carry a flashlight.

If you encounter an alligator that you think is acting aggressively, immediately call the Sea Pines Security dispatch office at 843.671.7170 to report it's behavior and location.

Maintenance Updates

Reconstructed and now open for use

Beach Walk Repairs Scheduled

We have begun repairing eleven (11) boardwalks that sustained storm-damage from Hurricane Matthew.
Boardwalk #23 is completed and open for use
Work on Boardwalk #22 is scheduled to begin week of May 20^th. The Boardwalk will be closed approximately 1-2 weeks. Pedestrians should use boardwalks at #23 and #21 during this time.
Our contractor will continue making repairs to the following boardwalks: 20, 21, 24, 25, 26, 29, 31, 32, and 33A.
In addition we will be repairing boardwalk #40 as part of our routine maintenance.
Hours of work will be from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM

Greenwood Drive Roadside Construction Work

Construction activity will continue along Greenwood Drive week of May 20^th.
We do not expect any traffic delays.
Working hours will be from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Crews will be working along the roadway, so please drive with caution.

Resurfacing Spotted Sandpiper Road and Audubon Pond Road

Work will begin May 29^thwith milling operations.
Work hours will be Monday thru Friday 7 AM – 6 PM.
The project includes:
road milling
milling in proximity to driveways
applying an asphalt tack coat
root intrusion removal
installation of new asphalt surface course
We expect the work to take up to two weeks to complete weather permitting.
Roadways will not be closed off; access will be permitted.
Traffic control will be set up for paving operations, flagmen will be on site.

Tree Work Scheduled

Scheduled work days are: June 3 - June 7
Work will begin at Lighthouse Rd. Leisure Trail (Between Fraser Cir. and Sea Pines Dr.)
Once completed, work will move to the leisure trail on Greenwood Dr. from Fraser Cir. To Greenwood Forest.
Road and leisure trail will be open, however, we ask residents to use caution when traveling through the area as it may be an active work zone.
Our tree contractor will have their crew members help secure and stop traffic/pedestrians as needed.
Work hours are between 7:30 AM and 5:00 PM.

Baynard Park Road Pedestrian Railing/Platform Replacement -

Project Completed

CSA Maintenance Department replaced the existing pedestrian railings at two locations on Baynard Park Road.
The pedestrian railings were constructed using 6 x 6 timber posts with horizontal ¼ inch stainless steel cables and (42”) forty two inches in height.
The railing has a small platform for fishing and is a designated Sea Pines fishing spot.
