KGOU Norman transmitter roof repair now completed
You might recall a big storm that passed through Norman back in 2021; it damaged the roof of KGOU's transmitter building located in a rural area east of town. Water leaked into the building, which houses several pieces of equipment in the broadcast chain for the 106.3 FM signal. For more than a year, our staff has made sure the building was covered—with an array of tarps and other temporary measures—to safeguard the equipment inside while we waited for repairs. With the financial hurdles finally cleared, installation of a new roof was completed last month. Kudos to our staff members for their perseverance and commitment to keeping broadcast outages to a minimum during this time.
