Open Letter to CMA Pastors over 50
Dear CMA Pastor,

The Church still needs you. They need your pastoral experience, your Biblical training, and your seasoned leadership skills. Especially churches facing a pastoral transition.

In an American church culture that seems to value resumes from younger applicants, Interim Pastor Ministries (IPM) has found that churches between ministers value older, trained pastors who can guide them through their transition.

As one church lay leader commented,

“Our intentional interim pastor was a change agent affecting the culture of the church, moving us from a conflicted culture to a healthy missional culture. These changes could not happen without someone who had both the knowledge and experience to lead us to where we are today. Our decision to hire an intentional interim pastor was very important for us in order to become a more healthy and vibrant church.”

If you are looking for a rewarding way to continue being faithful to your call to ministry in your later years, IPM and Alliance Transitional Ministries (ATMN) both have opportunities waiting for you in churches that need you.

If you would like to explore the question, “Is Interim Ministry for You?” here is the link to IPM’s one-day, 6-hour Zoom session that helps you answer that question:

If you would like to explore interim pastoring with ATMN, click here to view their webpage to learn more.

After having served several interim pastorates myself, I would look forward to talking with you, if you prefer, about what it might mean to extend your years of service to our Lord while providing you with supplemental income or to learn about how IPM and ATMN work together. Alliance Council 2023
Registration is now open for Alliance Council 2023 in Spokane, Washington, May 29–June 2.

Nestled in the scenic Pacific Northwest, the Spokane Convention Center has the advantage of being in the heart of the city while seated amid some of the most picturesque landscapes, making it an ideal venue to explore or just sit back and hear from the Lord. From the Spokane River Gorge to Mt. Spokane and Spokane Falls—and an impressive array of art galleries and museums—there are many memorable adventures awaiting you in and around this great city.

In addition, Spokane has made a name for itself in the national food scene—all within walking distance of the convention center and hotels at a great price point.

The most compelling reason we gather at Council, however, is to seek the Spirit’s presence and power for life and ministry. We come expectant that He will meet us where we are and lead us to where He wants us to be.

Your presence at Alliance Council 2023 is vital to the growth and vitality of our work together.
Let’s come expectant of our Lord’s guidance as we seek Him in:

  • Worship
  • Healing and Communion
  • The updating of our Alliance Statement of Faith
  • Polity on men and women in leadership
  • The election of new Board members
  • The Project Reimagine timeline
  • The commissioning of new international workers
  • The forward momentum of our All of Jesus for All the World vision!
