Prince George's County Public Schools News
Dear Prince George’s County Public Schools Community,

As we reach the halfway point of the school year, we remain focused and committed to building on our progress and ensuring that students have the skills they need to succeed in college and careers.

While we have faced some challenges, we have made great strides in making improvements. For instance, our grading accountability standards were cited by the Maryland State Board of Education as a model for other school districts.

I have prepared my Second Quarter Report, which provides an update on my work and highlights our achievements. Our main goals as we move forward include:

Investing in teachers and students
Ensuring safety in schools
Constructing and renovating facilities
Reducing class size
Building a new PGCPS through public-private partnerships
Please review the report and let me know your thoughts at ceo@pgcps.org.

I appreciate your continued support.

Sincerely,

Monica Goldson, Ed.D.
Interim Chief Executive Officer
Prince George’s County Public Schools

CMIT South junior Kennedy Watkins has faced health challenges since birth, but that hasn't stopped him from rising as a star scholar and athlete who recently led his school to its first basketball championship!
