Appointment Notice Update

In an effort to accomodate the needs of all our patients, we ask that you give us at least 24-hour notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. We appreciate your cooperation.

  • Behavior training takes time, patience, and consistency. The more consistent everyone in the household is with behavior management, the faster your puppy will learn.
  • Spanking or hitting a puppy is unkind. These are not appropriate training methods and should not be used.
  • It is always easier to prevent undesirable behaviors than to correct the behavior. However with puppies, many undesirable behaviors are part of the growing process. The next best strategy is therefore to quickly teach the puppy to stop the behavior before it becomes ingrained in his or her normal routine.
  • When your puppy exhibits an undesirable behavior, applying this general philosophy can go a long way in eliminating the behavior:
  • Stop the behavior (with a command like ‘No!’, with a loud noise, etc.)
  • Redirect the puppy into an acceptable behavior.
  • Praise the puppy for the good behavior.
  • Basic behavior training is the foundation of many behavioral corrections. Having a well-trained puppy can make your adult dog better adjusted.

Wondering Why It May Have Been Harder to Get That Last Minute Vet Appointment?

You may have heard that with COVID came a lot of extra pet adoptions which in turn increased the need for appointments at veterinary offices. We were no exception to this rule and have continued to try to meet the needs of our patients. We have hired more staff and we continue to make changes to our scheduling protocols so that we are better able to meet the needs of our patients.

How can you help? Plan ahead and schedule your pet’s wellness and vaccine visit several weeks in advance. This will allow us to have more appointment slots open for same-day sick visits and urgent needs. Also, please know that every day we are working a fully booked or overbooked schedule and that we try our best to see every patient same-day that is sick or injured but if you are calling with a need that isn’t medically urgent, we may ask that you allow us to book your appointment for a later date.

Thank you for your cooperation and support.
