BHA's New Executive Director

BHA is thrilled to announce that Doug Jones has begun his role as our new Executive Director. After an extensive nationwide search, the BHA Board selected Doug for his proven leadership, financial expertise, and experience in resort and association management.

A native of North Carolina, Doug brings a diverse background, having worked throughout the southeast, and Canada. His career encompasses a wide range of experiences, including resort development, association management and most recently county government. His most recent association leadership roles include management of Sun City Hilton Head and Palmetto Bluff located in South Carolina. His focus on balancing development and conservation aligns with the BHA’s mission to preserve the island’s unique character while fostering sustainable growth.

“I am honored to join the Bald Head Association and excited to contribute to its continued success,” says Doug. “I look forward to working closely with the Board, staff, and Members to shape a thriving future for our community.” We look forward to a bright future under his leadership.

BHA Board Meeting - 3/28/25 @ 8:30am

Did you know BHA Board Meetings have a public session that is open to all members? They are an excellent way to learn firsthand what's going on within your HOA. This forum allows members to ask questions and voice comments.

Meetings are held both in person and via Zoom - the link is on our website and below. Once in the meeting, online participants can enter questions or comments or ask to speak through the Chat feature. Written statements will be read at the meeting. If there are questions of a similar nature, they will be combined. The public forum will be recorded and posted on the website. The next meeting is 3/28/24 at 8:30am in BHA's Association Center (111 Lighthouse Wynd) or join meeting with the Zoom link. Please note the new time. The agenda will be posted on the website when available.

ARC Design Guideline Updates

At the Board's request, Terry Steelman, ARC-B chair, presented at the Annual Meeting changes to the ARC Design Guidelines which were adopted by the Board at their 1/24/25 meeting. These changes are for clarification purposes and do not change the intent of the guidelines. They pertain to the 60% undisturbed area, the clearing of understory, heated area, and building footprint. Presentation slides are here, and you can listen to Mr. Steelman's explanation on the meeting recording at 21.40 and slides 21-26.

A gentle reminder: late charges will  be applied to accounts which have not made assessment payments by March 15. You may receive statements by email from Bald Head Association. These are not spam. You only need to contact us if your amount is incorrect or you are unable to open the file.
