HANA Center and Lane Tech Celebrate AAPI
The Hana Center partnered with Lane to celebrate AAPI. Students and HANA staff partnered to create a NongGi (Korean banner). Our students talked about generational trauma, mental health, and the significance of forgiveness and healing. After sharing, the students decided the lotus flower was representative of their past, present and future.

COUNSELING NEWS FOR RISING SENIORS
|
Rising seniors are encouraged to take advantage of the CCC being open this summer to get a jump start on their college applications. Please check out the schedule of opportunities here.
Chicago Public Schools will transition from Naviance to Schoolinks this summer. Ms. Driesbach, Lane Tech’s College and Career Coach, will be available to help rising seniors with their accounts this summer. The district has not yet decided how parent accounts will be activated, we will share more as we have more information.

Counseling is hosting "Camp College" for rising seniors the week of 6/12: The summer camp college program is for rising seniors to get their college search and application process ready for senior year. We will review "Right Fit", how to narrow down your list, what to ask on a college campus tour, college essay support, and how to create your Common Application and get a head start on your Lane Senior Info Sheet. The week will end with an optional tour of a local college campus. Space is limited. More info: https://lanetech.org/summer-enrichment/

CLASS of 2023 - TRANSCRIPT REQUESTS |
Your student may have started receiving emails from colleges about their final transcript. Please understand that Lane cannot send final transcripts until June 7th (their legal graduation date) or the transcript can be rejected by colleges. Your student's counselor (or the counselor covering for them) will send their transcript by June 9th.
Graduates can contact Ms. Driesbach after June 20th if they're still receiving emails about their transcript being needed (many colleges have to manually check off that they received transcripts-- leading to delays on their end).
If your student got off a waitlist please ask them if they updated their final college in Naviance and completed the final transcript request card again (there are directions for completing these in the emails about Senior Checkout).
