September means back-to-school routines are in full swing...new teachers, new schedules, homework, activities, and a fresh start for children across our community.

But one thing doesn’t follow the school calendar: Child Abuse.

For children experiencing abuse or neglect, returning to school doesn’t mean the challenges they face at home disappear. In fact, this time of year can bring new transitions, added stress, and uncertainty for children and families.

Our CASA Advocates, already give something incredibly valuable: their time and their voice. But there’s another way to make an impact. You can help today by making a gift of any amount to CASA. Your support helps us continue showing up for children who need someone firmly in their corner.

Your tax-deductible gift helps CASA recruit, train, and support dedicated Advocates—people who listen, speak up, and remind children that no matter the season, they are not alone.

Christmas in July Brings Joy to CASA!

Christmas came early for children and families at CASA SATX! KENS 5’s Forever Family recently captured a special delivery as a big truck filled with toys from Learning Express San Antonio arrived at the CASA campus.

The generous donation brought plenty of smiles and a little holiday magic in the middle of summer! We’re incredibly grateful to Learning Express for helping create joyful moments for children experiencing foster care and to KENS 5 for sharing this heartwarming story with our community.

An Advocate Planting Seeds for CASA!

A special thank you to our wonderful CASA Advocate Ruby Wilkins, who recently brought a grant opportunity with Burlington Stores Foundation to our attention, and that lead has blossomed into exciting news: CASA has been selected as a finalist for the grant! While we won't know until December if our organization will be awarded the funds, still we want to thank Ruby for advocating for us in this way!

Her initiative is a wonderful reminder that advocacy can take many forms. By keeping CASA in mind and sharing an opportunity, she opened a door that could bring additional resources to our mission and the children we serve.

Thank you, Ruby, for planting the seed and always thinking of CASA!

If you have a lead on opportunities for funding for CASA, please reach out to Blair at BOrtmann@CASA-satx.org

In a garden where moonlight dances and petals shimmer, blooms awaken in quiet strength, rooted in resilience, touched by wonder, and transformed by care. They flourish not because conditions are perfect, but because something steady and unseen nurtures them along the way.
