Guild student soars in college course

Last fall, Guild School student Thomas took his passion for art and drawing to new heights when he enrolled in Drawing I at Middlesex Community College. While The Guild has supported students in auditing college courses, Thomas was the first to enroll for full credit – and he excelled. Read more about Thomas's success at MCC on our blog!

Guild School update

Guild School students have had fun this month learning how to make English muffin pizzas, practicing their purchasing skills at the Burlington Mall food court, and creating arts and crafts! View more photos here.

Flutie Foundation donates sneakers to Guild community

This month, the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism donated Diadora sneakers to students and adults with The Guild. We love them and can't wait to show them off! View the post here.

Dr. Amy Sousa for CommonWealth Magazine: What's causing the boarding crisis in hospitals?

"The crisis of psychiatric boarding is actually a crisis of residential services for people with complex developmental and behavioral health needs," writes Amy Sousa, CEO of The Guild, in CommonWealth Magazine. Dr. Sousa tells the story of a Guild student to illustrate how the emergency room boarding crisis has been caused by a lack of housing services for people with disabilities. We launched our online Guild store earlier this month! View the store at this link and browse through a variety of clothing items including hats, t-shirts, fleece and sweatshirts. The Guild receives grant from M&T Bank Charitable Foundation

We're excited to announce that The Guild is the proud recipient of a $7,500 grant from M&T Bank Charitable Foundation! The funds will be used to purchase a new 22,000-Watt Standby Generator in case of power outages or emergencies at Willow House in Waltham. Read more on our blog!

The Guild's vocational services staff have been hard at work creating mock restaurant and retail environments for students to practice occupation-based skills. Thanks to generous donations from one Guild parent, we now have a new cash register and fridge in the space for students to practice stocking and processing customers' requests!
