Dear Friends of Indigena,
I am excited to share a preview of the 2024 Annual Cape Dorset Print Collection with you. This year’s collection features 34 remarkable images by 15 talented artists, each available as a limited edition of 50. The prints showcase a range of techniques, including Stonecut, Lithograph, Etching & Chine Collé, Etching & Aquatint, and Linocut.
The official sale will begin on Saturday, October 19. If you would like to reserve any prints before the opening, please contact the Stratford gallery by email or telephone. Kindly refrain from leaving a voicemail, as we need to confirm your order due to limited availability.
My journey with Inuit prints began in 1970 with private viewings in our home. We next expanded to show the entire 1973 framed Cape Dorset Annual Print Collection at the Kitchener Public Library, and next moved into our brick and mortar location in Waterloo. Since that time, we have grown and moved many times in various locations. On reflection, it is hard to believe that 54 years have passed since we first started presenting these annual collections and many of you have been with me throughout this journey! This year, I am especially thrilled to present these wonderful prints alongside my children, Doug and Patti, at our locations in Stratford, Toronto, and Vancouver.
It has been a true honor to be involved with Cape Dorset prints over the years and to form personal connections with many of these remarkable artists. The continued talent and creativity in each collection never ceases to amaze me.
Thank you for your continued support of the artists and art from Kinngait (Cape Dorset). Enjoy viewing the images below and I will look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Erla
