Greetings!
Although it’s only been two months into the new fiscal year 2021-22, the City has been busy making good progress on the 17 Priority projects adopted by the City Council for this year, the more than 30 priorities continuing from previous years or which are legally required, as well as the day-to-day programs and services the City provides. As has been the City’s practice, detailed Workplans for the 17 Council Priorities are developed and available to the public to understand the scope and estimated timing of these priorities. And as my cover memo to the workplans indicates, this over brimming workload signifies the dedication and commitment of all City employees and the City Council to working diligently and tirelessly in service to the Pacifica community. It’s going to be another exciting and productive year for the City!
A couple date reminders: This upcoming Tuesday, September 7, is the deadline for the latest round of SMC Strong small business grants. Also, the Rancho Day Fiesta at the Sanchez Adobe Historic Site, which this year will feature the opening of the new Interpretive Center, is scheduled for Saturday, September 18, noon to 4:00 p.m.
I wish everyone a relaxing and safe Labor Day weekend!
Sincerely,
Kevin Woodhouse
City Manager

Residential Electric Customers in San Mateo County will Transition to Time-of-Use Rate
|
|
On September 1 Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) and Peninsula Clean Energy (PCE) will begin transitioning residential electric customers in San Mateo County to the Time-of-Use (peak pricing 4PM-9PM daily) rate plan. This rate features lower prices for electricity for 19 hours a day and higher prices from 4PM-9PM, every day, seven days a week. The prices are lower when demand is lower and renewable energy is more readily available. Customers on this Time-of-Use rate plan are encouraged to shift and reduce usage during the peak demand time between 4PM-9PM each day.

Please Remember to License Your Dogs
|
|
License, please! Dog licensing is required in all cities, towns and unincorporated areas of San Mateo County. The process may be completed online, through the mail, or at three locations in the County.
The best protection for your pets is licensing and vaccinating against rabies. Licensing your pets is the quickest way to be reunited if they get lost or injured. The County maintains a tracking system of licensed animals in case of a bite or rabies exposure.
Licensing also increases the likelihood of finding an aggressive animal or an animal that has been exposed to rabies, and that helps to reduce the number of people who must receive the post-exposure rabies vaccine after a bite.
Licensing is easy and affordable and the fees also help provide shelter, food, and emergency medical care for lost pets.
For more information use the link below and visit the animal licensing webpage.

Oversized Vehicle Parking Lists and Map
|
|
The City of Pacifica has installed OSV (Oversized Vehicle) parking restriction signs throughout the City based on an engineering safety review, which determined where OSVs could park in the City without impacting the safety of roadway users. These signs are located at roadway entrances into the City, entrances to specific neighborhoods and along stretches of specific City roadway. Many streets where OSVs cannot park without impacting driver safety have sign restrictions in place; however, not every prohibited street has signage.
