Hello!
It can be challenging to deal with setbacks while maintaining a positive outlook. Often, the mental clarity and emotional strength we need can be elusive when we need them most. I find that just a little progress can be enough to propel me forward, so that I can focus on the promising trend and release the old burdens.
This week's image features the famous wild horses in Tonto National Forest in Arizona, as they graze on fresh new grass. This is near where the Bush Fire started in 2020. This wicked wild fire grew to nearly 300,000 acres. Today, the mountains and foothills are covered in spring growth, thanks to a wild and wet winter.
Above is a shot of a typical hillside on scenic Bush Highway. (I believe that's Superstition Mountain in the background). Many of the trees and cacti here were spared in the fire. The ones on this ridge are charred yet standing, like scarecrows. Eventually they will be replaced by new ones, though that will take decades. Nevertheless, it is inspiring to see this remarkable recovery, a happy place now for wild horses and hundreds of people who pulled over to take photos.
Enjoy life! Be well. Stay safe. Know that you are loved.
(I always love to hear from you. Please email me and let me know your thoughts on this week's Message).
Blessings to you and the ones you love,
Emmie
