Thank You For Celebrating With Us!

On Saturday, April 6th, we kicked off Earth Month with the Youth Council's Sustainability Fair and the Grand Opening of our new Education Center. Thank you so much to our attendees, partners, & staff for helping to create a wonderful day and successful event. A huge shout out to our Youth Council for taking on their community service project as the Sustainability Fair, where there were many activities to enjoy and learn how to create positive habits that are Earth-friendly.

We hope everyone had a great time, and we look forward to having more of the community experience the Education Center for themselves!

Earth Day: Planet vs. Plastics

Earth Day is a reminder of the importance of environmental conservation and sustainability, encouraging us to come together and take action for a healthier planet and brighter future. This year, Earth Day will be celebrated on Monday, April 22 with the theme of Planet Vs. Plastics. The commitment is to end plastics for the sake of human and planetary health, demanding a 60% reduction in the production of ALL plastics by 2040.

Reminder: Earth Day is not just one day, but a global movement! Learn how you can get involved by visiting their website or joining a local event!

Let's Make Compost

Only two more composting workshops left before we take a short summer break. Join us in Salinas on May 18th at 10am to enjoy Nativdad Creek Garden and a morning learning how to make compost! Attendees from our service area will receive a free compost bin. Be sure to register so we know how many bins to prepare. See you there!

2024 Natividad Creek Cleanup

Earth Month is packed with ways to get involved, but in case you're still on the lookout for another opportunity - we have one for you! Come join us on Saturday, April 20th from 8am-noon and clean up the creek! We're looking for volunteers to join us as we create a cleaner public space for the community. Learn more by visiting the following link, and we look forward to cleaning up together!

Tire Amnesty is Still Rolling Along

Bring us your unwanted tires for FREE recycling! This is open to all three of our facilities, where we will be accepting up to 9 car and small truck tires per trip from residents (no businesses). This event is happening NOW through May 19th. Share with a friend who could take advantage of this opportunity while it lasts!
