Welcome to fall!
It was great to see so many of you at the Oilheat Retreat in Bethlehem last month. It was a weekend of work and play as nearly 50 OESP members and guests gathered to kick off the fall heating season. I hope that you were able to enjoy the historic scenery of the Lehigh Valley, and maybe even enjoyed the Irish festival going on downtown. I know we were happy to be together in-person as so many of us are now getting back together regularly.
Details on the Spring BOD meeting will be coming soon. It will be held March 18-20, 2022 and based on your feedback, we are looking into new venues and hope to have an announcement within a few weeks.
Planning is also underway for the Eastern Energy Expo, scheduled for May 22-25, 2022 at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, CT. The amazing Earth Expo Center will hold all exhibitors under one roof and we can’t wait for you to experience it!
We are full steam ahead for the return to this in-person event and we can’t wait. There will be a very robust technical education schedule for you, so don’t miss out on this opportunity for excellent training. You also won’t want to miss the OESP Opening Reception and Awards Banquet, promising to be better than ever.
We will once again host the Care to Ride on Monday, May 23. We will finally have the opportunity to honor our friend, colleague, and mentor, Ralph Adams, who was taken from us too soon in February 2020.
The Dave Nelsen Scholarship golf outing will also take place on Monday, May 23. We haven’t had an outing in a few years, so we are depending on all of you to help replenish the scholarship fund to continue our mission of education. And of course, we’ll have a great time doing it. So, join us!
I am excited to welcome another new chapter to OESP, the second of this year, after the Poconos chapter. Welcome to the New England Tri-State chapter serving Northern Massachusetts, Southern Vermont and Southen New Hampshire. Under the leadership of Scott Nicholas, Shane Wells, Aaron Clark and Rick Glownia, we are excited for this new chapter’s upcoming programming and success.
We are always looking for new service managers and technicians to join the Association. Do you have friends or colleagues who would benefit from membership in OESP? Bring them along to a fall meeting. It is more important than ever to continue to grow our great Association and educate the next generation of industry professionals.
New members can join now and get a “nearly 2 for 1” on the upcoming heating seasons. They will get the remainder of 2021 and all of 2022 included in one price!
On the business side: your membership dues invoices for 2022 will be going out shortly.
If you pay your dues electronically, you will receive an email with instructions to pay your bill online. Your invoice will be delivered to your email. Simply click the link – your link is unique to you, so no login will be required. If you receive your invoice by mail, please send us your email address so that we can save a few trees and email you your invoice.
OESP is always looking for people who are interested in making a difference in their career and this great Association. One of the ways is by providing networking opportunities to help grow your business.
Everyone wants to work with people who they know and trust, so get involved in your local chapter and experience the difference it will make for you. Please contact OESP HQ or your chapter president to learn how you can make a bigger difference.
We would like to thank our loyal and generous advertisers for their support this year. Thank you, once again, to Taco, R.W. Beckett, Suntec Industries, Carlin/Hyrdolevel, General Filters, Wohler, Sid Harvey, Roth, Weil-McLain and Energy Kinetics. We are now open for 2022 advertisers - your company could be in the next issue of the always-popular OESP News. Contact us to find out how.
On behalf of Jonathan Jaffe, Meredith Levy and the rest of the OESP management team, it continues to be a pleasure to serve the association. We wish you the very best for a terrific fall season. See you soon.
