Statement on the events in Butler, Pennsylvania

"I condemn in the strongest terms today’s attempted assassination of former President and current presidential candidate Donald Trump. Violence has no place in our political discourse and institutions. We must all unite against all forms of violence and intimidation that would limit our right to choose our leaders. I call upon Americans to exercise restraint and not further the cycle of violence. I mourn the loss of the innocent victims and pray for the health of former President Trump. "
