Be Respectful. Be Compassionate. Be Great.

"Challenge Accepted 2025-2026"

As the first half of the school year wraps up, we want to pause and offer our warmest congratulations on a wonderful and successful first semester! Our Tangischools family has shown incredible effort, focus, and commitment, and we couldn't be prouder of the milestones we've achieved. Let's follow through and finish this academic year strong by giving the last few days of 2025 our absolute best effort!

We hope you all prioritize rest, relaxation, and fun this winter break—you've certainly earned it!

Christmas Holidays

Wednesday, Dec. 17 is a half day of school for students.
SEE HALF DAY BELL SCHEDULE

Christmas/New Year break is December 18 - Jan 2.

Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 5 & 6, are PD Days for teachers
 (no school for students).

ATTENDANCE

Every Last Detail Counts!

Now is the time to focus on getting the final touches of the first semester just right. Showing up for the day on time and being actively engaged is the best way to ensure that you are catching every important detail.

Check your child's attendance in the Student Progress Center (SPC). Turn in any parent or doctor notes for days missed, so that those absences can be marked as excused. Under a new policy change, students may now submit up to 5 parent-written excuses per semester to be considered excused absences.

EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION

Cutting the Pattern Early Learning Center in Independence hosted a “Readers Make Leaders” Day, where members of the community visited and read books to the children.

Network News: The State of Louisiana has released its Early Childhood Performance Profiles. Ready Start Tangipahoa increased its overall performance from 5.58 to 5.73, maintaining its status as a high proficient network. Research shows that children who attend high-quality early childhood programs from birth to age five are better prepared for kindergarten, more likely to be reading by 3rd grade, and more likely to graduate on time.
