NEW THIS WEEK

This year's Annual Fund dollars support our athletic facilities, with upgraded turf fields at Maloof Stadium and Spellman Field. Your contribution equips our student-athletes with a safer, championship-caliber playing surface, giving every Golden Lion the foundation to train hard, compete with integrity, and strive for excellence.

On Friday, October 30, we will have a Halloween Costume Day fundraiser to benefit the upcoming Campus Ministry Summer Domestic Mission Trip. The cost to come in costume or spirit wear is $10; students’ FACTS accounts will be billed. Students in their school uniforms who add any out-of-uniform clothing item to their uniform will still be charged the $10 fee. Thank you for participating!

Assembly Highlights Emergency Preparedness and Blood Drive

Last Friday, St. Pius X 9th-11th graders gathered for an assembly focused on crisis preparedness and community service. FBI Special Agent Gabe Coulter spoke with students about active shooter protocols, emergency first aid (including how to apply a tourniquet), and career and internship opportunities within the FBI. Former SPX Athletic Director Mark Kelly ’70 then shared his deeply personal story. Saved twice by blood donors — first during a battle with cancer in college, and later during a severe medical emergency as a young father — Kelly considers those anonymous donors his "angels." He encouraged students to become angels for others by participating in the upcoming Red Cross Blood Drive on November 7.

We need Blood Drive volunteers!

We are starting to see some flu cases. Just a reminder: your student MUST stay home if he/she has a fever greater than 100.4 and CANNOT return to school until fever-free (without medication) and no worsening symptoms for 24 hours.

Sophomore parents: When your student turns 16, there is a booster vaccine that is required by the state of Georgia and the Archdiocese of Atlanta. It is the MCV4 vaccine that protects against meningitis. Your student received the first dose before 7th grade. Please check your family email for reminders about this vaccine.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the first two sessions of our History of St. Pius X Speaker Series with Aaron Parr and Mark Kelly '70. If you missed the first two sessions, you are still welcome to join us for the final session featuring Steve Spellman on November 5. Steve is a wonderful storyteller with a wealth of memories and experiences to share, offering a unique glimpse into the people, traditions, and moments that have shaped St. Pius X. We look forward to continuing the series and seeing you there!

REMINDERS

Please join the Mothers' Club for a Morning of Service on Saturday, November 7, from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. in the Edwards Cafeteria! We will make fleece blankets for the children of Dresden Elementary School as part of the Dresden Christmas Project. Students and parents are welcome!

Join us on our annual Guys' Retreat on November 13-15, 2026. It is an all-grade level retreat, so every male student is welcome to join! This year we will be heading up to the mountains of Dahlonega. There will be fun activities such as field games, hiking, a lake, and more. We will get a chance to grow in freedom and peace together through Mass, prayer, and praise. It's essential to rest and be together as a community, so we hope you can join us! Any questions, please reach out to Campus Ministry.
