In person or on Zoom

Speaker: Joseph Bednarik
Topic: “Road Trip with an Anti-Theist”
Long journeys often inspire interesting conversations, deep sharing, and uncommon insights. This Sunday, we imagine riding in the passenger seat with a virulent anti-theist at the wheel, foot on the gas, calling our religious beliefs and leanings “mumbo jumbo!"
Bio: Joseph Bednarik recently retired – or, better yet, “re-wired”– as the co-publisher of Copper Canyon Press. He speaks regularly at UU congregations in the Salish Sea region. A collection of his Sunday morning talks, “Invited to Speak,” was published in April 2024.

🌲 The Adventurers - Past Outing
September 16: A Day in Seattle
Eight remarkable adventurers set out on a perfect late-summer day, taking the Strait Shot 123 bus to the Bainbridge Island Ferry Dock. The real adventure began when we had only seconds to run for the ferry. We made it—WHEW! Nothing like starting the day with a little adrenaline.
The ferry ride into Seattle offered spectacular views of the Emerald City. As we gazed across the water, we couldn’t help but think how fortunate we are to live in such a beautiful part of the country.
Over the course of the day, the adventurers scattered and regrouped, taking in the Aquarium, sailing on the Bay, Old Stove Brewery, Pike Place Market, the Great Wheel, Union and King Street Stations, Pioneer Square, and Waterfront Park.
By the time we reached Molly Moon Ice Cream, we had definitely earned a treat—and the sugar boost helped fortify us for the return trip to Bainbridge Island and our bus ride home to Sequim and Port Angeles.
It was a day filled with sights, sounds, laughter, a little running, and lots of friendship. The memories will surely last until our next adventure!

The workshop is open to everyone. Materials will be provided, and there is no charge to attend.
Thanks, Tom! We hope many of you will be able to join us for this creative and inspiring gathering.

WORDS FROM
GEORGE WILL
"People are like stained glass windows.
They sparkle and shine when the sun is out.
But when the darkness sets in, their true beauty
