New Communications Director
St. Columba's is pleased to announce Lauren Devito as our new Director of Communications, effective August 15. Lauren joined the staff in March as part-time Creative Director of Digital Media. In that capacity, she helped us move quickly in the Call to Action for racial justice, created the video to launch our 30-30-30 campaign with Housing Up, is developing a new website (stay tuned!), and quickly became a vital member of our staff team. We anticipate a seamless transition as she steps into this new, larger role. More>
Practicing Faith
An Invitation to House Churches
St. Columba's is launching a new worship opportunity, and we'd love for you to be involved! Very simply, the new initiative is to ask members of the parish to host small groups for prayer and fellowship in their backyard. We imagine that this may be no more complicated than a small group of people sitting outside at an appropriate distance reading a scripture passage, listening to a sermon, saying a few prayers, and sharing in the Eucharist. Visit our new House Churches webpage to learn how you may engage in this small group worship. Contact: Joshua Daniel

RACIAL JUSTICE
Called for Action
Stirring the Waters is a ministry for racial justice that seeks to educate the parish and ourselves on issues of racial justice, and work to understand the impact of racism and racial inequality, confront white privilege, promote interracial dialogue and act against racial injustice.

Are you ready to take the next step? For ideas on promoting racial justice, visit our Stirring the Waters webpage. Follow us on our new Facebook page. Let us know if you would like an upcoming event or program posted there. Questions? Contact Stirring the Waters.

Once again, thank you for your generosity during our $30k in 30 days campaign! We are pleased to share that the funds have been sent to Housing Up to support the housing security needs of these families. Any additional donations will be directed to St. Columba’s Outreach Fund, which provides support for all our outreach ministries, as well as future projects with Housing Up. We anticipate the needs will grow as the pandemic endures, and we are grateful for the ongoing support of this congregation. Stay tuned for future projects.

COLUMBARIUM
Renovations to Begin
In preparation for renovations, volunteers trimmed trees and archived personal remembrances for return to family and friends. Columbarium expansion will begin August 10th, and is expected to take 6-8 weeks to complete. During construction there will be no access to the Columbarium and the Flower Guild door. The project includes addition of 96 new niches (each capable of holding up to three urns); renovation of walkways; improved landscaping; the addition of a fountain; and improved drainage within the site. The work has been funded through the purchase of remaining existing niches and new niches. If interested, contact: John Nolan.
