Family Fit Zones are the latest trend in inclusive intergenerational outdoor play and fitness spaces creating destination parks. Combining traditional play and fitness equipment with Lappset interactive components and even a GameTime Challenge Course creates a unique destination park where the entire family can participate in a variety of physical activities or just relax and enjoy the outdoors. Huckleberry Trail Park, located in Christiansburg, Virginia, is a perfect example of a Family Fit Zone – a place for the entire family. They have it all …from play to fitness to sports. Even water play!

This Family Fit Zone design includes a GameTime playground which is a PlayCore National Demonstration site for PLAY ON! The playground play space features two play structures for ages 2-5 and 5-12, swings, with outdoor musical and other sensory rich play components. Huckleberry Park is also designated as a PlayCore NDS for Outdoor Fitness. The fitness area features a GT Challenge Course, GT Fit fitness stations and compact THRIVE fitness unit. All of which will accommodate all ages, all abilities and all fitness levels. To complete the Family Fit Zone design, the park includes not only one Lappset Interactive but two: the Sona Dance and Play Arch and the Toro Sports Court. This custom Family Fit Zone design also utilizes water play for an added sensory play experience. Great for those hot summer days.

Other examples of Family Fit Zone designs are Valley Park in Hurricane, WV, and Miracle Park in Rock Hill, SC. Valley Park includes traditional play and fitness equipment, including a GT Challenge Course, shade and site furnishings. Miracle Park includes a large inclusive playground, fitness equipment, shade and two Lappset interactive play pieces. Both sites have two PlayCore National Demonstration Site designations.
