City of Vacaville City Coach Transit Continues to Partner with Local Schools to Offer Transportation Options

VACAVILLE, Calif. The City of Vacaville is excited to announce the continued partnership between our local schools and the Vacaville City Coach Transportation program. Most recently, City Coach has partnered with Kairos Public Schools to provide transportation services for Kairos enrolled students. Through this new partnership and starting this month, socio-economically disadvantaged Kairos students ages 12 or older can access free transportation through the City Coach Direct program, thanks to this innovative collaboration.

City Coach Direct is an exciting way to get around the City of Vacaville. Similar to other ride share options, the public can simply call to request a trip, City Coach Direct picks them up and takes them to a destination of choice anywhere in Vacaville. It’s a faster, easier, more direct way to use City Coach. Scheduling a trip is easy by calling City Coach at (707) 449-6000 and a friendly dispatcher will schedule the trip. Through this new partnership, the City of Vacaville and Kairos Public Schools aim to enhance accessibility and convenience of public transportation for Kairos students as well as the general public.

Key highlights of this partnership include:

1. Subsidized Rides to Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Students: As part of the commitment to providing affordable transportation options, Kairos Public Schools is subsidizing discounted passes for qualified students.

2. On-Demand Service: Kairos student passengers and/or their parents will enjoy the flexibility of requesting rides by calling City Coach dispatch (707) 449-6000, making it easier than ever to travel to a Kairos campus.

3. Direct Routes: City Coach Direct will provide transport services to Kairos students from their home to a Kairos campus and back as needed.

Mayor John Carli said, "This partnership with Kairos Public Schools represents a significant step forward for our community. It's a testament to our commitment to improving transportation options, reducing barriers, and ensuring that all students in Vacaville have a safe, reliable way to get to school."

Jared Austin, Co-Founder & Executive Director of Kairos Public Schools, added, "Kairos Public Schools is proud to be part of this partnership with the City of Vacaville. We believe that accessible and free transportation for students in need is a fundamental requisite to education. Together, we can only improve academic engagement, attendance and student performance goals.”

The partnership between the City of Vacaville and Kairos Public Schools reflects a shared commitment to making transportation services more equitable, convenient, and accessible for all. We look forward to rolling out these exciting changes.
