MESSAGE FROM THE CEO, Kevin Drumheller

Dear Families and Friends,

This is truly the "Summer of Richcroft!" Summer's pace, for some, can get a little slower. Not at Richcroft! As we get into the full swing of summer, we continue to do amazing things with the people we support. What I love about this month’s newsletter is that you will get to see the results of our hard work.  We have received awards acknowledging Richcroft, awards acknowledging the people we support, and awards acknowledging staff who are truly committed to our Mission.  I am filled with gratitude and excitement for the incredible journey we are on together. Our mission continues to inspire and drive us forward.

Our work would not be possible without the unwavering support of our donors, volunteers, and partners. Your generosity and commitment enable us to create meaningful opportunities and foster a more inclusive society for all. As we move forward, we remain steadfast in our Mission and dedicated to advocating for the rights and dignity of adults with disabilities.

Thank you for being a vital part of our community. Enjoy your summer as together we work to make a lasting impact and pave the way for a brighter, more inclusive future.

 All my best,

Kevin

MACS AWARDS 2024

Congratulations Byron!

Achieving Dreams!

On July 15, Byron was honored with a 2024 Maryland Association of Community Services (MACS) Achievement Award! Byron was honored in the personal accomplishments category for actualizing his dream of earning his driver's license and also buying his dream car! Richcroft's CEO, Kevin Drumheller along with Byron's Direct Support Team and staff of Richcroft, were on hand to celebrate Byron on his big night!

MACS is dedicated to strengthening agencies to better support people with developmental disabilities and their families in their own communities. This is accomplished through advocacy that promotes the highest standards of program excellence; fosters a climate that develops and nurtures a quality workforce; and results in an increased capacity within Maryland communities to support people in inclusive settings. Richcroft is a proud partner of MACS.

Celebrating Colin's

Tech Success!

Colley (Colin) is a person who does not like the sound of a traditional alarm clock; I'm sure many of us can relate to that! Colley and his Personal Supports team brainstormed and came up with the idea to use smart bulbs - programmed to turn on the light to assist Colley with time management and help him work towards waking up independently. Through assisted technology, an Alexa Echo and smart bulbs were secured and Colley put his tech skills to work creating his new "alarm" clock. These photos illuminate the work he put in and also show the feeling of accomplishment when it all worked!

Richcroft Update: Colley’s grandparents reported that after setting it up and learning to use the device with his PS staff, Colley has been waking up independently in the mornings!

Reaching a Career Milestone

Congratulations on

30 Years of Service to Richcroft -

Dionne Pittman!

Please join Richcroft as we congratulation Dionne Pittman for her milestone achievement of 30 Years of Service. Program Manager Dionne has held many roles at Richcroft throughout her long career. Dionne says she likes to "lead by example," loves to learn new things and often models the behavior she would like to see in staff.

Dionne's decision to work in the disability field came from her true life experience; growing up she lived next door to a boy who had a disability. Their families became very close and Dionne often found herself helping to provide care and support to her neighbor and friend.

Dionne considers one of her biggest accomplishments to be helping individuals who were previously at the institution of Rosewood find a "home" at Richcroft -many of whom are still thriving at Richcroft today.

Career highlights include helping staff to grow in their careers and planning and going on vacations with the people she has supported over the years and "seeing them so happy!" In her spare time Dionne enjoys spending time with family and roller skating!

Thank you Dionne for your

commitment and service to Richcroft!
