JRB FINANCIAL PULSE

February 2026 — Issue #93

A Word from the CEO

The new year unfolded with promise and purpose. Several employers extended JRB retirement benefits to all employees, including administrators, educators and support staff.

The reasons are simple. The JRB offers a compelling retirement solution for both Conservative Movement organizations and their staff. There is no cost for employers to set up. Participants benefit from quality investment options, personal financial consultations, complimentary insurance benefits and low fees.

New to the JRB?  Dive into "Welcome to the JRB" to take advantage of all of the benefits the JRB offers. Even if you’re a long-term member of the JRB, we urge you to take a look at this article. Are you getting everything the JRB has to offer? For instance, did you know that the JRB provides complimentary access to sample state specific estate planning documents you can use to write your own will, power of attorney and advance medical directives?

Within a few years of retirement?  You’ve been saving for years and now it’s time to think about how your retirement savings can translate into income.  How much can you expect from Social Security? What Required Minimum Distributions must you take? How should you prioritize withdrawals from your various retirement accounts? Read “Planning Your Retirement Income” which gently shifts the "what ifs" into confident clarity.

The JRB Board of Trustees bids farewell to Clare Peeters, who represented the Jewish Theological Seminary, and extends its sincere thanks for her dedicated service. We are especially grateful for her leadership as Chair of the Communications Committee and for her thoughtful contributions to the Investment Review and Insurance Committees.

The JRB Board is pleased to welcome Randy A. Michaels, Vice Chancellor and Chief Operating Officer of the Jewish Theological Seminary, to the Board. Randy brings deep institutional leadership experience and a strong understanding of governance, and we look forward to the strategic insight he will contribute as we continue advancing the JRB’s mission.

Hear from Rabbi Hazzan Jeffrey Myers of the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, PA as he reflects on his long-term participation in the JRB – and what it means for him and his family as he contemplates retirement.

L’Shalom,
