MRFF Summary:


A CNN investigation has found that Ryan Higgins, a senior religious affairs adviser to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, has a years-long history of racist, homophobic, anti-Muslim and conspiratorial online posts, despite reportedly playing a significant role in shaping Hegseth’s Christian nationalist rhetoric and helping establish the Pentagon’s new Office of Religious Affairs. Higgins has defended racist depictions of the Obamas, described immigrants using racist and inflammatory language, condemned same-sex marriage, attacked LGBTQ+ people, compared abortion to the Holocaust, and promoted false claims that the 2020 election was stolen.
