TiE Women & TiE U Workshops in Action!

TiE New York successfully hosted two impactful master classes designed exclusively for the finalists of the TiE Women Pitch Competition and applicants of TiE University.

✨ Master Class 1: Top 5 Dos and Don’ts of Pitching at Pitch Competitions

Katie Dunn shared practical tips on how founders can deliver clear, confident, and compelling pitches. She outlined common mistakes to avoid, how to tailor a pitch for judges and investors, and strategies to communicate value effectively.

✨ Master Class 2: Equity 101: Cap Table and Equity Compensation

Amit Majumder provided a practical guide to structuring equity. He explained the importance of proper documentation, founder agreements, and advisor support, while walking through key equity instruments (stock options, RSUs, PSUs, phantom stock) and their tax implications. He emphasized the need for careful planning and regular valuations to align equity with business goals.

👉 Together, these master classes equipped our founders with critical skills—from pitching with impact to building a strong equity foundation—as they prepare for the upcoming competition.
