Vibrant MSBT Ministries

in the Diocese of Savannah

Hope, encouragement, and renewed missionary zeal are flourishing in the apostolic ministries of MSBT Sisters in Georgia. Sr. Terry Bretthauer (pictured below), Sr. Janet Santibañez, and Sr. Christine Wiltrakis form the Trinity Ministries Team, traveling from parish to parish to accompany God’s people in moments of growth, discernment, and new beginnings.

At St. Patrick Parish in the community of Kathleen, Georgia, Sr. Terry recently met with the adult faith formation parishioners as the Church begins walking closely with catechumens preparing for the Easter Sacraments. With warmth and conviction, she invited the community to remember their own baptismal promises and to renew their yes to Christ.

In Douglas, Georgia, Sr. Chris (pictured below, left) gathered with Cursillo leaders as they prepare for their upcoming Spring weekends. Together they prayed, reflected, and deepened their commitment to forming vibrant Christian communities; ready to ignite hearts with the love of Christ.

Later this month in Alma, Georgia, Sr. Janet will proclaim the Lenten journey to more than 200 members of the Hispanic community, inviting them to walk as missionary disciples of the Lord, rooted in faith, strengthened in hope, and sent forth in love.

The Diocese of Savannah is the largest diocese east of the Mississippi River, stretching across 90 counties, from rural farming communities to growing suburban areas. It is richly multicultural, and this diversity is one of its greatest gifts. Trinity Ministries has been blessed to serve Anglo, African American, Hispanic, Filipino, and many other vibrant communities living here from around the world.

The Sisters' apostolic work has grown and evolved since the MSBT Cenacle in Warner Robbins was first established in 2018 by Sr. Terry Bretthauer, Sr. Nancy Walsh and Sr. Therese Francis Walker. As Sisters have been called to new assignments, Sr. Chris Wiltrakis and Sr. Janet Santibañez joined Sr. Terry in the ministry.

Through parish missions, retreats, days of reflection, diocesan gatherings, and programs for parish and Catholic school staffs, our Sisters accompany adults and young adults in a deeper relationship with the Lord and a more confident witness in their homes, workplaces, and communities. MSBT Sisters meet people where they are and inspire them take the next step.

As ministries evolve and activities expand, our Sisters' mission through the Trinity Ministries Team remains the same. They are called to awaken faith, renew hope, inspire zeal, build communion and send forth missionary disciples who glorify the Most Blessed Trinity with their lives.

Blessed Mary

Inspires Prayer at

Montgomery Catholic

The statue of Mary that once graced the Grotto at Blessed Trinity Shrine Retreat has found a beautiful new home at Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School. As the oldest continually running non-public school in Alabama, Montgomery Catholic serves as a vital regional school system for K-12 students with two elementary school campuses, middle school and high school campuses. The cherished statue has been placed in a newly constructed, grotto-style outdoor prayer space located in the inner courtyard of the high school campus.

While final landscaping and finishing touches are scheduled for completion this Spring before its blessing, the space is already fulfilling its mission. This sanctuary of peace offers a quiet place of reflection and prayer for the approximately 300 high school students, visitors, administration and staff of Montgomery Catholic, continuing the legacy of this of sacred art of inspiring prayer in the faithful.
